Like David Lynch we believe “Even bad coffee is better than no coffee at all” but when you have the choice why settle for watered downed burnt coffee. There are certainly cafes with better ambiance than the ones listed below, but for just a great cup of coffee and nothing else here are the best places in Buenos Aires.

Located inside the San Telmo Market, professional barristas from the Centro de Estudios del Café serve up a wide range of top notch coffee. They supply other cafes in the city, and you can also find them at Buenos Aires Market.

Similar set up, ambiance, and menu items as a Starbucks – frappucinos, lattes, bagels, muffins. They also have a brew bar with specialized coffee and brewing methods. Despite the Starbucks comparison, it’s coffee is without a doubt superior.

Full City Coffee House
Full City Coffee is owned by Victoria Angarita, daughter of Parmenio Angarita, who is one of the top coffee experts in Colombia. Their coffee lives up to the owners impressive pedigree. They serve a rich smooth coffee without a hint of bitterness and also have a very good cold brew.

Down the street from Full City Coffee you’ll find another Colombian cafe that makes a proper cup of coffee. However, its best to skip the food, and stick to their coffee. They also provide coffee to cafes around the city.

In the entrance of the Thompson building, owner Rodrigo Rochas is one of the most knowledgable baristas around, and makes an awesome cup of coffee. They are in the process of opening another location on Reconquista.

These guys are some serious coffee nerds. Top of the line equipment, premium materials, and scientific coffee knowledge. It’s not surprising that they have some of the best coffee in Buenos Aires. They also specialize in making personalized blends for customers. Oh yeah, and their chocolate chip cookies are pretty damn good too.
